March 12, 2016 - SPHL (SPHL)
Macon Mayhem News Release
A third period rally came up short for the Macon Mayhem in Knoxville Saturday night, as the Mayhem lost to the Ice Bears 5-2. The loss wrapped up the franchise record long seven game road trip, in which the Mayhem went 3-3-1.
Knoxville raced to a 4-0 lead on goals by Trever Hertz, Doug Reid and Garrett Vermeersch in the first period. Denis Sicard stretched it to 4-0 with the only goal of the second period.
The Mayhem finally got on the board on Mark Rivera's unassisted goal at 6:08 of the third period. Zack Josepher's power play goal at 10:43 got Macon back within striking distance. But just 1:17 later, Brad Pawlowski's unassisted goal regained the three goal cushion for Knoxville.
Macon will play its first home game since February 20th on Thursday March 17th in a rematch with Knoxville. That will kick start a six game homestand for the Mayhem.
