Peoria Rivermen News Release
THE GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER
Last night's Rivermen win included a pair of assists by Peoria defenseman Brandon Greenside to improvehis team-best assist total to 28. For the season, Greenside is the only Rivermen player to skate in all 45 games, his 28 assists and 33 points lead all SPHL defensemen, and his +30 rating is tops among all SPHL players this season, followed on the plus/minus leaderboard by teammates Chris Wilson (+25) and Steve Morra (+20).
WELCOME BACK HAGS
Last night's 5-2 Peoria win included a pair of shorthanded goals from Rivermen winger Alec Hagaman in his first game back from a nine-game stint with ECHL Evansville. The two tallies marked Hagaman's first multi-goal game since November 6 at Louisiana, and, along with his assist last night, give the Peoria native his first career three-point contest in his 100th professional game. For the season, Hagaman has logged 12 goals and nine assists in 40 games to go with a +9 rating and 119 penalty minutes, second most among Rivermen players behind only captain Dan Bremner.
EXPLOSIVE STARTERS
The Rivermen took a 2-0 lead and an 11-8 shots on goal advantage into the first intermission last night, lifting the Rivermen to a 56-28 goals advantage and a 540-408 SOG edge in the first 20 minutes of games this season, each representing the widest such margin for any SPHL team in any single period this season. This season when leading after one period the Rivermen are 22-3-0 and when they score first the Rivermen are 29-4-2. When Peoria out-shoots its opposition, as it did last night, the Rivermen are 22-6-1.
