The Mavericks and Mallards meet again at i wireless Center this Friday, December 9 in the second of eight meetings between the teams this season. Missouri is currently in third place in the Turner Conference and trail the first-place Evansville IceMen by just three points. Quad City sits in sixth place in the conference with an 8-8-0 record and 16 points. The Mavericks won the only meeting between the teams this season, 2-1, in Quad City on November 26. Missouri has never lost to the Mallards in Quad City going 4-0-0 over the past two seasons. The game is the first of 12 Mavericks' broadcasts on Sports Radio 810 WHB.

Missouri hosts the Allen Americans for the second time this season at Independence Events Center on Saturday night. The Americans are currently 10-4-3 for 23 points and in second place in the Berry Conference trailing the Wichita Thunder by just one point. Allen won the first meeting of the season against the Mavericks, 4-1, at Independence Events Center on November 25. The teams will meet one more time in Independence on January 13 and one time in Allen on March 10.

Teddy Bear Toss - This Saturday, December 10 is the Mavericks' annual Teddy Bear Toss sponsored by Mazuma Credit Union. Fans are asked to bring new Teddy Bears to Independence Events Center and throw them on the ice after the Mavericks score their first goal. The teddy bears will then be donated to Friends of Special People, Community Services League, Centerpoint and Children's Mercy hospital.

Guy's Night Out - On Tuesday, December 13, the Mavericks and Isle of Capri Casino will host Guy's Night Out at the Lone Wolf Bar & Grill at Isle of Capri Casino. The event is free for all "guy" Mavericks' fans. Happy Hour will start at 5:30 p.m. and there will be a $7.99 All-You-Can-Eat Taco Bar along with other specials. The program will consist of insider information including hockey "code of the road", top pranks, rookie initiation and locker room stories.

Franchise high - The Mavericks broke their franchise record of 50 shots on goal Friday night with 51 shots against goaltender Larry Sterling and the Dayton Gems. The Mavs set the record two seasons ago, when they put up 50 shots against the Tulsa Oilers on February 18, 2010. The Mavericks also set a franchise mark with 27 shots on goal in the third period. The previous best was 23 shots in a period.

Conference race - The Mavericks are just three points behind the Evansville IceMen for first place in the Turner Conference. Missouri is 9-7-2 for 20 points and they are tied with Dayton for third place in the conference. The Fort Wayne Komets sit in second place with 22 points on the season. Overall, first through sixth place is separated by just seven points.

Road Wins - The Mavericks are tied for the most road wins in the CHL to this point in the season. Missouri is currently 7-3-1 on the road.

Slow starts - In the Mavericks' last seven games the team has allowed 12 first period goals compared to just two goals for. Prior to the past seven games the Mavericks were outscoring their opponent 15-8 in the first period. If the Mavericks have the lead or are tied after the first 20 minutes of the game, the team is 6-1-2, conversely when the Mavericks are trailing after the first period they are 3-6-0.

More than three - When the Mavericks score more than three goals in a game the team is 5-1-0. When scoring three or fewer the Mavericks are 4-6-2.

Home vs. Road -The Mavericks are currently 2-4-1 at Independence Events Center and averaging 3.14 goals per game. On the road the Mavericks are 7-3-1 averaging 2.91 goals per game. The difference has been goals allowed. Missouri is giving up 4.14 goals per game at home and 2.27 goals per game on the road.

Chicago Wolves - The Mavericks' American Hockey League affiliate, the Chicago Wolves, are currently 9-8-1-3 and in fourth place in the Midwest Division. The Wolves are led by Darren Haydar who has 24 points on seven goals and 17 assists in 21 games played. Chicago plays three games in three nights this weekend when they head to Rockford on Friday and then return home for games on Saturday and Sunday against Milwaukee and Grand Rapids.

The Mavericks will travel to Quad City this Friday, December 9 and the game will be live on Sports Radio 810 WHB. The team will return home for a game against the Allen Americans on Saturday, December 10. Fans are encouraged to bring new teddy bears to the game for the Mavericks' annual Teddy Bear Toss.
