PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ - The Arizona Sundogs have won five of their last seven contests heading into a weekend pair of games against the Rapid City Rush to close out a five-game road trip.

Last week's record: 2-1-0

Season overall: 8-9-3, 19 pts. - Tied-5th in Berry Conference

-- LAST WEEK'S GAMES - Wednesday at Laredo, 3-1 Win

David Nimmo and Luke Erickson each scored power play goals in the first period and the Sundogs held on from there. Matt Pierce added one for Laredo, but Adam Smyth's empty net goal in the game's final minute solidified the Sundog win. Erickson's first period goal was the 99th of his pro career.

Friday at Rio Grande Valley, 5-3 Loss

A four-goal first period for the Bees was the difference as the Sundogs tried to rally back from a 5-1 deficit in the third period. Jeff Hazelwood scored a pair of goals and Kyle Hood added another, but 37 saves by Rio's John Murray held the Bees lead in tact.

Saturday at Rio Grande Valley, 3-2 (SO) Win

The Sundogs rallied back from a 2-0 deficit behind goals from Adam Smyth and Samson Mahbod on the power play. Shawn Morton-Boutin scored the shootout-winner in round four as Scott Reid stopped Brandon Campos in round five to complete the comeback.

Luke Erickson is one goal away from 100 in his pro career. Levente Szuper is among the CHL's top goaltenders with a 2.75 GAA (T-8th) and a .928 SV% (2nd). Scott Reid has won six of his last eight starts in net for the Sundogs. Kyle Hood is currently tied with Missouri's Sebastien Thinel for the league lead with 26 points on the year and his 18 assists are third best in the CHL. Arizona's 3-2 shootout win on Saturday was their 12th one-goal game of the season, leading the CHL.
