Tuesday, October 27 - Missouri Mavericks at Odessa Jackalopes, 7:05 p.m. CDT

The Mavericks head to Odessa to take on the Jackalopes for the first time in team history. Odessa is where Head Coach Scott Hillman played the final eight seasons of his career and he has played more games (446) in a Jackalopes' sweater than any other person. Missouri (0-4-0) continues to look for the first win in team history.

Saturday, October 31 - Missouri Mavericks at Wichita Thunder, 7:05 p.m. CDT

Missouri heads to Wichita for a pair of games on Halloween weekend. Wichita is the Mavericks' closest rival in proximity (207 miles). The Thunder (2-3-0) are led by veteran forward Jason Duda who has 745 games played in the Central Hockey League and is among the all-time leaders in numerous statistical categories. Missouri will have just two more road games after the trip to Wichita and the team will open up at home on November 13 and 14 against the Thunder.

Friday, October 23 - Missouri 2 at Colorado 6
The Colorado Eagles defeated the Missouri Mavericks 6-2 Friday night in front of 5,289 fans at Budweiser Events Center. Riley Nelson scored two goals and added an assist for Colorado who improved to 2-0-1 and Kevin Ulanski finished with a goal and three assists in the win for Colorado. Nick Sirota and Ted Vandermeer scored goals for Missouri and Doug Groenestege stopped 23 of 29 shots in his second loss of the season. Missouri allowed one power play goal and one shorthanded goal in the loss and was unable to score a power play goal on seven chances. Shots finished tied at 29 apiece.
Saturday, October 24 - Missouri 2 at Amarillo 3
The Mavericks comeback effort fell one goal short Saturday night as the Amarillo Gorillas defeated the Mavericks 3-2 at Amarillo Civic Center. Amarillo jumped to a 3-0 lead including a pair of goals by Joe Guenther, but the Mavericks came back with two goals in the second period. Bill Vandermeer scored on a penalty shot and Andrew Davis scored for the Mavericks, but the visitors couldn't get the equalizer and fell to 0-4-0 on the season. Andrew Smale and Gordon Bell each assisted on all three Gorillas' goals and Anthony Battaglia scored the game-winner to improve Amarillo's record to 5-1-0. Tuomas Lohtander had 28 saves on 30 shots in net for the Gorillas in his second win of the season, and his counterpart Mike Gorman stopped 24 of 27 shots for his second loss of the season.
Notes
Mascot Unveiling - The Mavericks will unveil their mascot at a pair of school assemblies on Wednesday, October 28. First, the Mavericks will head to Bingham Middle School in Independence at 9:45 a.m. After that, the Mavericks' newest team member will be unveiled at Voy Spears Elementary in Lee's Summit at 3:00 p.m.
Assist streak - Mavericks' forward Chad Hinz has an assist in each of the team's first four games. His four-game assist streak is tied for the longest streak to this point in the season.
PIM Leader - The Mavericks lead the CHL in penalty minutes to this point in the season. Missouri has been whistled for a total of 134 penalty minutes in four games, a 33.50 average per game.
New Faces - Missouri made some roster moves last week. Missouri traded for Arizona Sundogs left wing Karl Sellan and signed Nick Sirota. Sellan, 24 (4/4/85), is in his fourth season in the CHL having played the previous three seasons with the Arizona Sundogs. Sirota, 25 (1/28/84), is entering his rookie season having played for Northern Michigan University the past four seasons. Sirota scored the Mavericks' second and final goal against Colorado Friday night. The Mavericks also waived defenseman Doug MacIver and added Kyle Bochek to the 30-day injured reserve list.
