Oakley CHL Player/ Goaltender Of The Week Announced

October 26, 2009 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release


(Tempe, Arizona) - The Central Hockey League announced today that the recipients for the Oakley CHL Player and Goaltender of the Week for the period ending October 25th, 2009 are forward Jeff Pierce and goaltender Ray Jean, of the Odessa Jackalopes and Mississippi RiverKings respectively.

Pierce tallied points in all three of the Jackalopes contests this past week helping the team to points in all three games (2-0-1). His best game came against the Amarillo Gorillas where he netted his first hat trick of his career in a 9-4 victory. The Troy, Michigan native compiled seven points through the week (5-2=7) and currently leads the team and is tied for second in the CHL with his five goals.

Jean wins the goaltending weekly award after going 2-0 this past weekend against the defending champion Texas Brahmas. The Randolph, Maine native battled through 64 shots against the Brahmas stopping 92% of them. The wins included an impressive 3-2 shootout win on Friday where he stopped 30 of 32 shots against the Brahmas.

In recognition of their achievements, both Pierce and Jean will receive a special gift from Oakley.
