Mavericks to Play Showcase Game Tonight at 5:30

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The Missouri Mavericks will play the first of three straight pre-season games tonight in their first Showcase Game at Independence Events Center starting at 5:30 p.m. The Mavericks will also host an autograph session with all of the players immediately following the game.

30 players have battled all week during the Mavericks' training camp to make 19 roster spots. Tonight's game will divide the players into two teams for an inter-squad game. Season ticket holders and fans who have purchased exhibition game tickets can attend the game for free. The Box Office will be open for fans that have not yet purchased exhibition game tickets.

Mavericks' season ticket holders will also have a chance to tour the Mavericks' facilities from 4-5 p.m., and Head Coach Scott Hillman will host a question-and-answer session at 5 p.m. for all season ticket holders. Doors for non-season ticket holders will open at 5 p.m.

Immediately following the showcase, Mavericks' players will be available for autographs on the concourse.

The Missouri Mavericks will begin their second season in the Central Hockey League on October 15, 2010 against the Odessa Jackalopes at 7:05 p.m. The Mavericks play their home games at the state-of-the-art Independence Events Center where parking is always free.
