
Mavericks To Honor Local High School Teams

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The Missouri Mavericks of the Central Hockey League (CHL) have announced the team will recognize three local high schools at their game Tuesday, December 15. Representatives from Blue Springs, Fort Osage and Kearney high school football teams will be recognized during the first intermission of the Mavericks' game against the Rapid City Rush at Independence Events Center.
The Blue Springs Wildcats finished second in Class 6A with a 12-2 record, and their coach, Kelly Donohoe, will be recognized at Independence Events Center. The Kearney Bulldogs won the Class 4A State Championship this past fall, and head coach Greg Jones will be recognized at the intermission. Finally, the Fort Osage Indians, who finished runner-up in Class 5A, will also be acknowledged during the special ceremony.
The Mavericks would like to reward all of the supporters of these three high schools by offering discounted tickets. Parents, students, faculty and fans of all three schools will receive rinkside tickets (normally $25) for just $16 or terrace level seats (normally $18) for just $10. Fans who wish to take advantage of this offer, must call the Mavericks front office at (816) 252-7825 by 1 p.m. This offer is not redeemable at the box office.
Missouri hosts the Rapid City Rush Tuesday, December 15 at 7:05 p.m. at Independence Events Center. The Mavericks are looking for their third straight win after beating the Laredo Bucks and Corpus Christi IceRays over the weekend. For more information please visit www.MissouriMavericks.com.
