Matt Childers leads Lynx to second straight win

The Lynx jumped out to an early lead with a run in the first, two more in the second and another pair in the third. Gary Burnham brought home leadoff hitter Chris Roberson with an RBI single in the bottom of the first. The Lynx second inning surge was highlighted by Danny Sandoval and Joe Thurston scoring when Chris Coste reached on an error. Matt Childers put the game out of reach with his two-RBI double in the third to stake the Lynx to a five-run lead. Childers threw 6.1 shutout innings before allowing a pair of runs in the seventh. This snapped his scoreless inning streak at 23.0 innings. The Lynx got those two runs back in the bottom of the eighth when Dusty Wathan and Joe Thurston scored on another play where Chris Coste reached on an error. The Lynx head on the road for a 10-day, 11-game trip on a two-game win streak.

Next Game: The Lynx hit the road to Rochester for a Saturday doubleheader. Game 1 starts at 5:05 pm.

Probable Pitchers: Saturday @ Rochester, 5:05 pm, Ottawa LHP Brian Mazone (2-2, 2.64) and RHP J.D. Durbin (no record) take on Rochester RHP Kevin Slowey (3-0, 1.05) and LHP Jason Miller (0-0, 0.90).
