
Ben Francisco, Nick Pesco Join Bisons

The Cleveland Indians announced that outfielder Ben Francisco and been optioned to the Buffalo Bisons. Pitcher Nick Pesco will also join the Herd from extended spring training.
Francisco, 25, was recalled by Cleveland on May 1 and made his Major League debut that night as a defensive replacement (no at-bat). The outfielder spent all of April with the Bisons and hit .299 (20-67) with a six doubles, a home run, nine RBI and seven stolen bases (no caught stealings).
Pesco, 23, has been in extended spring training and has not pitched this year. He went 6-8 with a 5.81ERA in 18 starts with Double-A Akron in 2006. He was also 1-0 with a 0.50ERA that season with Single-A Mahoning Valley. The Indians' 25th pick in the June, 2002 Draft was a Carolina League All-Star with Single-A Kinston in 2005 (11-10, 3.82ERA, 27G, 101K).
