New York Red Bulls News Release
HARRISON, N.J. - After a 1-0 victory over cross-town rival NYCFC, the New York Red Bulls (3-2-1, 10 pts) hit the road for back-to-back matches, beginning with the Philadelphia Union on Tuesday. Kickoff at Subaru Park is set for 7:30 p.m. with coverage on MSG, MSG Go and New York Red Bulls Radio on TuneIn.
Coverage on MSG begins at 7 p.m. ET with the Red Bulls Pregame show. Steve Cangialosi will have the primary play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Shep Messing and Michelle Gingras.
New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 6:30 p.m. EST with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon. Ernesto Motta will carry the Spanish play-by-play responsibilities, beginning at 7 p.m. EST.
New York moved into third place in the Eastern Conference following their 1-0 New York Derby win over New York City FC. The Red Bulls held NYCFC to just two shots on net, both of which Yonkers native Ryan Meara saved to record the 71st cleansheet at Red Bull Arena. The 71 shutouts at RBA are the most in MLS since 2010.
The Red Bulls return to Subaru Park, formerly known as Talen Energy Stadium, for the first time since their 4-3 extratime defeat in Round One of the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs to the Union on October 20, 2019. New York and Philadelphia have played close matches in Chester, tallying 10 one-goal matches or less across all competitions with the Union edging the Red Bulls, 6-2-2. Meara aims to keep his shutout streak alive in 2020 and against Philadelphia as he tallied a two-save shutout against the Union on May 26, 2018.
Captain Sean Davis recorded his 100th career MLS start against NYCFC on Thursday. Davis' 100 MLS regular-season starts are the most among all Red Bulls Homegrowns. The Holmdel, New Jersey, native is one of five New York players to start all six matches and just one of two players (Kyle Duncan) to play every minute in 2020.
New York wraps up its two-match roadtrip with the New England Revolution on Saturday. Kickoff at Gillette Stadium is set for 8 p.m. with coverage on MSG, MSG Go and New York Red Bulls Radio.
