Orlando City SC News Release
64 - Minutes to glory
It didn't take long for Daryl Dike to make his mark in purple. After playing 46 minutes off the bench in the MLS is Back Tournament, Dike scored his first professional goal 18 minutes into Orlando City's game at Inter Miami on Saturday night, finding the back of the net just over an hour into his professional career. Dike, the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft, scored faster than any rookie in Orlando City history, beating out Cyle Larin's previous mark of 117 minutes.
50.8% - Nani on the mark
Nani's goal against Miami put him up to 4 G/4 A in eight games in all competitions for the 2020 season, with the captain involved in eight of the 14 goals Orlando have scored since he returned in the MLS is Back opener. The Portuguese has been involved in 31 of Orlando City's 65 goals since signing in February 2019, and if you limit the scope to MLS competitions only, Nani has either scored or assisted 30 of 59 Lions goals, 50.8% of their total tally.
326 - Long time no see
Speaking of Nani, it's been quite a while since he's taken the pitch at Exploria Stadium. The captain missed out on the February 29 season opener against Real Salt Lake through suspension, meaning Wednesday's match against Nashville will be the first time he's stepped on the Exploria Stadium grass in a competitive match since October 6, 2019, last year's season finale. 326 days will have passed since!
298 - Nashville's shutout run
Nashville SC comes to Exploria Stadium on Wednesday to take on Orlando City, and while the expansion side has just one win and one draw in five games, defense has not been the problem. Until Pity Martinez struck in the 40th minute of their defeat against Atlanta on Saturday night, Nashville had gone 298 minutes without allowing a goal, going all the way back to the 12th minute of their game against Portland in March before the coronavirus shutdown. That streak is the second longest in MLS this season.
