Match Forecast: Reign FC Faces Sky Blue FC on Saturday in Home Rematch

SEATTLE (June 5, 2015) - Seattle Reign FC (2-2-2, 8 pts) will look to extend its unbeaten streak to four games on Saturday, June 6 against Sky Blue FC (1-3-4, 7 pts). Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT on the Moda Pitch at Memorial Stadium, with a live, high-definition webstream available at YouTube.com/NWSL.

Saturday's game is the second of three regular season matchups between Reign FC and Sky Blue FC. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw on May 9 at Yurcak Field in Piscataway, N.J. Defender Lauren Barnes scored her first NWSL goal in the tie while Sky Blue FC were awarded a controversial stoppage time penalty kick to salvage a point at home.

Seattle is coming off a scoreless draw with the Chicago Red Stars last Saturday at Memorial Stadium, which marked the first time the Red Stars were held off the scoreboard all season, while Seattle notched its first shutout in the effort.

Reign FC did post several close scoring chances in the match, including a 29th minute volley from forward Beverly Yanez that went just wide of the net, and a shot off the foot of forward Merritt Mathias in the 76th minute that hit the crossbar.

On the defensive end, goalkeeper Haley Kopmeyer made four saves on the night to notch her first shutout of the 2015 season. Chicago's best chance came in the 20th minute when defender Elli Reed made a goal-line save for Reign FC to deny midfielder Michelle Wenino from finding the back of the net.

Sky Blue FC is currently at the bottom of the NWSL standings with seven points, and is the only team with just one league victory. While the team is currently tied for last place, they've recently been difficult to notch a result against, playing to three 1-1 draws in their last four games.

Midfielder Katy Freels leads the team with three goals, while forward Nadia Nadim has two. That duo, alongside defenders Lindsi Cutshall, Cami Levin and Kristin Grubka, have started all eight games for Sky Blue FC this season.

In the net, Brittany Cameron has made eight starts for the team and carries a 1.125 goals against average.

Both Reign FC and Sky Blue FC have been hit by FIFA Women's World Cup attrition. Seattle will be without forward Megan Rapinoe and goalkeeper Hope Solo - both competing for the U.S. Women's National Team - while Sky Blue FC is without Australian forwards Caitlin Foord and Samantha Kerr, Canadian forward Jonelle Filigno, Mexican midfielder Monica Ocampo, and USWNT defenders Christie Rampone and Kelley O'Hara.

The two sides will meet again on Saturday, August 29 at 7 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
