Massey Sent to Extended; Tourists Receive Laurent

Asheville Tourists outfielder Tyler Massey has been sent to the Colorado Rockies' extended spring training in Arizona after he suffered a right ankle sprain. Replacing Massey on the 25-man roster will be outfielder Chandler Laurent. The Rockies' 21st-round draft pick in 2009 out of Delgado College in Louisiana, Laurent has been in extended spring training after spending last season at both Class A Tri-City and Modesto.
The Tourists return to McCormick Field on Thursday, May 5, against the Delmarva Shorebirds to open an eight-game homestand. For more information about tickets, the clinics or the luncheon, contact the Tourists' front office at (828) 258-0428.
