Augusta, GA - The Augusta GreenJackets return home for their second homestand of the year, an eight-game stretch that features two Thirsty Thursdays, Fireworks and an appearance by a cult TV idol. Here's what the GreenJackets have planned for the current homestand, beginning Thursday May 5th:
Thursday May 5th (7:05 p.m. vs. West Virginia) - The GreenJackets return home for a Thirsty Thursday, presented by The Vue and 95 Rock. This year, Cinco de Mayo falls on a Thirsty Thursday, so prepare for a Mexican Fiesta! As always, fans can enjoy dollar soft drinks and domestic drafts at the ballpark. In addition, any fan bringing a donkey or Chihuahua to the ballpark will receive a free general admission ticket as we celebrate Mexican heritage!
Friday May 6th (7:05 p.m. vs. West Virginia) - School will soon be out for summer, but the GreenJackets will hold Teacher Appreciation Night this weekend! Teachers and family members will receive special ticket pricing by showing their school ID at the box office window. To make sure things don't get out of hand, the GreenJackets will bring America's favorite principal to the ballpark - Mr. Belding, from TV's Saved By The Bell. Mr. Belding will throw out a ceremonial first pitch and will appear all throughout the night.
Saturday May 7th (7:05 p.m. vs. West Virginia) - Come to the ballpark on Saturday for one of the most inspirational nights of the season - Pink in the Park Night, presented by MCG Health. The GreenJackets will be wearing special pink uniforms for the game to raise awareness for Breast Cancer research. Throughout the game, fans can place bids on those jerseys with all proceeds collected in the auction donated to Breast Cancer research. In addition, it'll be another Sparkling Saturday, with postgame fireworks, courtesy of Kicks 99!
Sunday May 8th (2:05 p.m. vs. West Virginia) - The GreenJackets wrap up the first half of the homestand and the four-game set with the Power on a Kids Eat Free Sunday, presented by the Augusta Chronicle.
