SAN ANTONIO, TX - Adam Mascherin and Denis Gurianov both tallied four-point games, with Mascherin recording a first period hat trick, as the Texas Stars (8-8-2) skated to a 7-3 win over the San Antonio Rampage (8-13-0) on Sunday afternoon in front of 3,004 fans at the AT&T Center. The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for San Antonio.

Jordan Kyrou, Jordan Nolan, and Chris Butler scored goals for the Rampage, who fell back to .500 on home ice with a 6-6-0 record at the AT&T Center.

Mascherin entered the game with three goals on the season, but he netted three in the first period to give Texas a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes of play. Mascherin opened the scoring at 3:27 of the first period with a one-timer from the right wing past Jordan Binnington, a power play goal to make it 1-0. He struck again from between the circles at 12:52, shortly following an unsuccessful 5-on-3 power play for the Rampage that was longer than two minutes.

Mascherin made it 3-1 at 16:01 of the first when a blocked point shot came to him at the side of the net for his sixth of the season and his first professional hat trick.

Kyrou got the Rampage on the board at 6:42 of the first period with his second of the season, knocking down a pass from Joel L'Esperance at the Rampage blue line and racing ahead for a breakaway goal against Texas goaltender Colton Point to make it 1-1.

At 7:21 of the second period, Gurianov tapped in his own rebound to make it 4-1 with his eighth goal of the season. Nolan would strike back for San Antonio 1:12 later with a snap shot past Point on a 2-on-1 rush for his fourth goal of the season to make it a 4-2 game.

The Stars scored three more times in the second period in a span of 3:50 to take a 7-2 lead to the locker room. Elgin Pearce scored his first of the season on a rebound at 14:21 and Brady Norrish netted his first AHL goal off a 3-on-1 rush at 17:12. L'Esperance struck on the power play at 18:11, his eighth goal of the season and Texas' third power play goal of the game to make it 7-2.

Following the L'Esperance goal, Binnington was assessed a five-minute major for slashing and a game misconduct. He surrendered seven goals on 22 shots. Ville Husso stopped all seven shots he faced in relief.

Butler scored his second goal of the season on the power play at 7:15 of the third period with a shot from the right point that made it 7-3. San Antonio has scored a power play goal in seven straight games.

The Rampage travel to Van Andel Arena on Friday to kick off a four-game road trip with their second meeting of the season with the Grand Rapids Griffins. Puck-drop is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT, with the game available on The Ticket 760AM and on AHLTV.
