Lazar's Three Points Not Enough in Loss
November 25, 2018 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Stockton Heat News Release
Stockton, CA. - Stockton's relentless comeback attempt falls short as the Heat suffer a 6-3 setback to the San Diego Gulls. The Heat trailed 4-0 before the halfway mark of the second period, but Stockton scored three straight goals and made a late push, but Kevin Boyle's 41 saves in goal were the difference. Goaltending did not benefit the Heat early as Nick Schneider allowed three first-period goals and was pulled after 13:29 in the first period. Gillies was strong in relief, stopping 16 of 17 shots in relief before the Gulls netted two empty net goals. Sam Carrick scored a hat trick in San Diego's victory. Andrew Mangiapane scored in his return to the lineup after missing eight games with an injury. Curtis Lazar finished with three assists and the center now is tied for the team lead with 17 points and has nine points over his last six games.
The Heat head back on the road for a quick one game trip to San Jose on Tuesday morning for a 11:00 AM game against the San Jose Barracuda. This will be the fifth matchup between the two clubs this season. Stockton is 1-3 in the four games against the top team in the Pacific Division. Catch the game live on AHLTV. Stockton returns back home on Friday, November 30 at 7:00 p.m. against the Ontario Reign at Stockton Arena for Harry Potter Sock Toss Night!
