
Marvin Loria Named to Costa Rica U-23 Men's National Team Roster

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers today announced that midfielder Marvin LorÃÂa has been called in by the Costa Rica U-23 Men's National Team for a training camp from Dec. 9-15 at Complejo Deportivo Fedefutbol Plycem in San José, Costa Rica. During that span, the team will play two friendly matches against Costa Rica First Division teams in preparation for the 2020 CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship.
LorÃÂa, 22, has made several appearances for Costa Rica at the youth level, including three appearances (one start) at the 2017 CONCACAF U-20 Championship in Costa Rica. Additionally, LorÃÂa received his first call-up to the senior men's national team on Feb. 2, 2019, starting and playing 77 minutes in a 2-0 loss against the U.S. Men's National Team at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif.
In his first season with the Timbers, the San José, Costa Rica, native made his Major League Soccer debut against the Houston Dynamo on June 22, 2019, tallying his first career goal for the Timbers in a 4-0 home win. LorÃÂa recorded 20 appearances (nine starts) across all competitions in 2019, registering two goals and one assist.
