Marlies Fall 2-1 against Utica

The Utica Comets, AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, defeated the Toronto Marlies by a score of 2-1 this afternoon at Ricoh Coliseum.

Jeremy Welsh opened the scoring for the Comets on a powerplay at 18:06 of the first period. The Marlies would tie the game on a powerplay of their own at 6:54 of the middle frame when Brandon Kozun tipped home a T.J. Brennan point shot. Pascal Pelletier notched the game winning goal with just 34 seconds remaining in regulation to give the Comets their second victory in as many days.

The Marlies return to the ice tomorrow afternoon when they host the Texas Stars, AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars, at Air Canada Centre. Puck drop is set for 3 p.m. Limited tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling the team's ticket line at 416-597-PUCK (7825).
