Marlies and Rocket Battle at Ricoh Coliseum
March 28, 2018 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Toronto Marlies News Release
The Toronto Marlies will host the Laval Rocket for a fifth time this season - and third time this month - Wednesday night at Ricoh Coliseum.
For the Marlies (47-18-1-1), it comes after a busy three-in-three weekend where they won two games, including victories over Belleville and Springfield.
Laval (24-35-7-2) has lost four consecutive games and are coming off of an 8-2 loss to the Senators on Sunday.
The two sides know each other well, with the Marlies holding an 8-1-0-0 advantage in the regular season so far.
In the nine meetings so far, the Marlies have outscored Laval 37-12 on the season with Chris Mueller paving the way, earning 10 points (3G, 7A) against the Rocket this season. Jeremy Bracco sits second in team scoring in the regular season series with a goal and five assists in seven games played.
At the other end, Adam Cracknell is leading the Canadiens' affiliate in scoring against Toronto with four points (2G, 2A) while Niki Petti is second with two goals and a helpers.
While the Marlies have won eight of their last ten games, Laval have only earned two victories in their last ten.
On special teams, Laval's often-dangerous power play (19.2%) has struggled against Toronto, with the Marlies penalty kill shutting down 94.1% of shorthanded situations against the Rocket.
Meanwhile, the Marlies have converted on 25.5% of power play chances against Laval.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 and fans can tune in on Leafs Nation Network, TSN 2 and AHL Live.
Marlies Alley is closed for today's game. Gates will open at 6:00 PM and fans redeeming Winning Weeknight vouchers can do so in Heritage Court.
Fans coming to the game can enter our Insider Seat Upgrade contest for the chance to be moved up to platinum seats or our First Goal Challenge to win tickets to an upcoming contest.
