Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release
LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Long Beach Ice Dogs announced today that center Mark Hurtubise has agreed to terms for the 2006-2007 season. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The 6'2", 185 pound native of Montreal, Quebec played last season in the UHL with the Adirondack Frostbite and scored 66 points in 68 games for a stellar rookie campaign. Before turning pro, Hurtubise played four seasons in the QMJHL for Val-d'Or where he recorded 63 goals and 98 assists in 247 games.
"Mark had an excellent rookie season last year in the UHL", said Managing Partner/Owner Steven Bash. "The fans in Long Beach are really going to enjoy watching Mark continue to develop into an excellent hockey player. We are expecting Mark to be a true offensive threat in the ECHL."
"Hurtubise is a skilled offensive player who I expect to be a major contributor up front this season on both the power play and the penalty kill", said Head Coach and General Manager Rick Adduono. "Mark has great quickness and ability to carry the puck, and is willing to block shots. He will be a tremendous addition to the Ice Dogs for the upcoming season."
Opening night is Friday, October 20th, versus the Idaho Steelheads at 7:30 PM. Season tickets for the 2006-07 season are on sale now, and can be secured by depositing just $100 per seat. Call (562) ICE-DOGS or visit www.icedogs.com for more information.
