Phoenix RoadRunners News Release

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL have announced that defenseman Dusty Demianiuk and rookie forward Chase Trull have each agreed to terms on a contract for the upcoming 2006-07 season. Demianiuk and Trull join a RoadRunners roster that already includes defenseman Brent Henley and goaltender Mike Mole.

"Dusty certainly proved to a lot of people that he can be a quality defenseman in the ECHL and we're excited to have him on board for another season," said RoadRunners Head Coach Ron Filion. "His character and level of commitment to the team are equally impressive and hopefully will serve as a benchmark for everyone in the locker room." Filion continued, "Meanwhile, Chase is someone that we got a glimpse of at the end of last year and not only showed potential, but a tremendous work ethic as well. I know he'll come to training camp ready to battle in order to make the team."

Demianiuk, 23, tallied two goals and 14 points in 67 games as a rookie to finish tied for third among RoadRunners defensemen in scoring. His efforts garnered him "Rookie of the Year" and "Defenseman of the Year" honors at the team's Booster Club Awards Banquet in April. Demianiuk recently participated in a one-week hockey camp with 35 other players as part of New England Sports Network's (NESN) "Be A Bruin", a reality television series giving NHL-hopefuls the opportunity to earn an invitation to training camp with the Boston Bruins in September. The series will air on NESN this coming fall. A native of Franklin, Mass., Demianiuk joined the RoadRunners as a rookie following a four-year collegiate career at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

Trull, 22, begins his first full professional season following a three-year collegiate career at St. Lawrence University. The Rockwood, Ontario native appeared in seven games with the RoadRunners after signing as a free agent on March 22 and collected his first professional goal in the season finale at Las Vegas. Trull tallied four goals and eight points in 36 games last season at St. Lawrence and finished his collegiate career with six goals, 11 assists, and 17 points in 96 games.

Opening Night 2006 at US Airways Center will be on Friday, October 20 when the RoadRunners welcome the Utah Grizzlies at 7:11PM for the first game of an opening weekend three-game series. Information on season tickets, half-season packages, and flex plans are available by calling (602) 462-GOAL.
