The Salem Red Sox have activated INF Mario Martinez off the 7-day disabled list. There is no corresponding move at this time.
ACTIVATE: INF Mario Martinez
Martinez has not played since August 4 while battling a left hip injury. He was placed on the disabled list on Tuesday, August 18 with the move being retroactive to Friday, August 14. This season with the Red Sox, he is hitting .268 with 12 doubles, four home runs and 42 RBI in 83 games. His 42 RBI leads the team among active players.
The Red Sox roster now sits at the league maximum of 25 players with four on the disabled list.
