New Haven County Cutters News Release

WEST HAVEN, CT - New Haven County Cutters' centerfielder Marcus Nettles entered the Can-Am League record books for a second time over the weekend when he broke the single-season stolen base mark Saturday night at New Jersey by swiping his 41st bag of the year.

Nettles, ironically, eclipsed the record set by Zach Smithlin of the New Jersey Jackals who stole 40 bases last season.

The Cutters' leadoff hitter took the record despite missing 28 games earlier in the year due to injury.

Nettles also set the league's single-game stolen base mark when he took five on July 26 in Worcester to surpass North Shore's Marcos Agramonte's four thefts in a game in 2005.
