PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Moose forward Kyle Connor was named the CCM/AHL Player of the week for the period ending March 5 on Monday. The first year pro led the AHL with six goals and eight points in four games. Connor's run went beyond just the one week as the 2015 17th overall pick has 10 goals in the last nine days, with 13 points over those six games. That torrid pace has the former University of Michigan standout up to second on the Moose in scoring with 31 points (18G, 13A) in 38 games. His 18 goals lead the Moose and are tied for sixth among AHL rookies.

ROSTER UPDATE: The Moose roster saw some shuffling throughout the week. Julian Melchiori returned to the team from the Winnipeg Jets and Jake Baker was re-assigned to the Florida Everblades. The team also signed forward Bryan Moore who played two games with the club before returning to the ECHL's Allen Americans.

FIRST AHL WIN: Goaltender Jamie Phillips picked up his first career AHL win in Rockford on Tuesday. Phillips made 32 saves on 35 shots to help the Moose to the 5-3 victory. Phillips has a 1-2-0 record on the season with a 3.97 GAA and 0.890 SV%. The first year pro impressed in the ECHL, posting a 19-10-0 record with a 2.63 GAA and 0.913 SV% for the Tulsa Oilers.

STREAKIN' Manitoba's loss in Chicago brought to an end its longest point streak of the season at six games. The run began with a shootout loss to Rockford on Feb. 22 before the Moose won four straight against San Antonio and Rockford. The final game of the streak went down as a 3-2 shootout loss to Milwaukee.

HAPPY TO BE HOME: With their four-game road swing behind them, the Moose will play eight straight at MTS Centre spanning from Thursday, March 9 until Friday, March 24. During the stand, the Moose face Charlotte, Toronto, Rockford and Milwaukee. Manitoba has a record of 11-11-2-2 at home and wins in two straight home contests.

(Photo: Greg Hamil) Tuesday, Feb. 28: Manitoba 5 at Rockford 3 The Moose built up a 3-0 lead on goals from Peter Stoykewych, Kyle Connor and Dan DeSalvo. The IceHogs responded with three straight of their own. Brendan Lemieux put the Moose back in front for good midway through the third and Brian Strait iced the game with an empty netter. Friday, March 3: Manitoba 5 at Rockford 3 Again, the Moose powered to an early lead thanks to Kyle Connor scoring twice followed by Scott Kosmachuk and Quinton Howden. Once again the IceHogs battled back, scoring three on the powerplay in the third, but JC Lipon put down the comeback with an empty net goal. Saturday, March 4: Manitoba 2 at Milwaukee 3 OT The Kyle Connor goal-scoring show rolled into Milwaukee on Friday. The rookie scored in the first and third to put the Moose up 2-0. The Admirals responded with two of their own in the third and Mike Ribeiro scored the winner just eight seconds into overtime. Sunday, March 5: Manitoba 4 at Chicago 5 Brandon Tanev and Jack Roslovic gave the Moose an early lead, but Chicago turned around with five straight goals to lead 5-2 in the third. Brendan Lemieux cut into the lead with a powerplay goal and Kyle Connor made it a one goal game 46 seconds later. The Moose weren't able to complete the comeback, ending the swing with a loss. vs. Charlotte, Thursday, March 9 ( 7 p.m. CT) vs. Charlotte, Friday, March 10 ( 7 p.m. CT) vs. Toronto, Sunday, March 12 (2 p.m. CT) The Moose open an eight game home stand this week starting with a two-game set against the Charlotte Checkers on Thursday and Friday. Sunday's game against Toronto is Manitoba Moose Retro Jersey Day when the Moose roll back the clock to the 1996-97 season wearing special edition retro jerseys. The jerseys will be auctioned off during game and online following the day's action in support of Hockey Manitoba. Tickets for all three games are available at moosehockey.com/tickets.

Kyle Connor held the AHL spotlight being named the CCM/AHL Player of the Week. The forward posted multiple points in three of four games this week, reaching a five game streak of multi-point games. He also earned 'first star' honours in two of four games.
