3 THINGS TO KNOW

Road Hot: The IceCaps continue to thrive away from Mile One Centre. St. John's kick-started their road trip by shutting out opponents in two victories. The IceCaps lead the North Division picking up 34 road points in 31 games.

Tricky Nicky: IceCaps forward Nikita Scherbak has been impressive as of late picking up two goals and eight points over his past seven games.

Scherbak is a +6 during that stretch.

Lindy Among Leaders: IceCaps goaltender Charlie Lindgren recorded his 18th win of the season Friday which ties him for the sixth best in the AHL -second most among rookie goaltenders.

His third shutout ties him for fifth most in the league. Lindgren also sits fourth in most saves, and in minutes played.

Friday, Mar. 3 STJ 3 vs RCH 0 RECAP Charlie Lindgren was perfect between the pipes for the IceCaps, turning aside all 29 shots he faced as St. John's blanked the Rochester Americans 3-0. Jacob de la Rose opened the scoring with his 6th goal of the season, Brett Lernout netted his third ten minutes later. Nikita Scherbak added his twelfth goal of the year in the third to seal the victory. Saturday, Mar. 4 TOR 3 vs STJ 1 RECAP Keegan Lowe scored his first goal in an Icecaps' uniform but it wasn't enough as the IceCaps dropped a 3-1 decision to the Toronto Marlies. Toronto scored three unanswered goals to start to game to sink the IceCaps. Charlie Lindgren allowed three goals on 21 shots in the loss. Sunday, Mar. 5 STJ 3 vs TOR 0 RECAP Yann Danis kicked aside all 24 shots by the Toronto Marlies to pick up his first shutout of the season. Nikita Scherbak and Jacob de la Rose scored 1:25 apart in the first period as St. John's jumped out to a 2-0 early lead. Chris Terry added a powerplay marker in the second period to put St. John's ahead 3-0.
