Manitoba Moose Post Game Report - Manitoba vs. Iowa - January 1

Goals:

- Moose forward Darren Kramer works a give-and-go with Kelly Zajac and Kramer scores on the backhand at 5:45 of the first period.

- Moose forward Jimmy Lodge knocks in the rebound of a Darren Kramer backhand shot at 14:31 of the first.

- Kurtis Gabriel scored Iowa's first goal at 17:47 off a deflection off the Moose defender in front near the end of the first period.

- Patrice Cormier tipped in the John Albert points shot at 8:46 of the second period.

- Tyler Graovac narrowed the gap at 19:01 in the second by scoring his first of the season on the powerplay.

- Former Manitoba Moose Maxime Fortunus tied things up in the third for Iowa with a great shot at 8:21.

- Zack Mitchell & Tyler Graovac scored in the shootout for the Wild. Scott Kosmachuk and Nic Petan missed on their chances for the Moose

Highlights/Notes:

- Darren Kramer recorded his first goal of the season. He had a "Gordie Howe hat-trick" all in the first period with a goal, an assist and a fighting major.

- Jimmy Lodge recorded his first career AHL goal and point.

- The Moose recalled defenceman Aaron Harstad from their ECHL affiliate, the Tulsa Oilers earlier in the day Friday, but did not play the game.

- Winnipeg native Kelly Zajac picked up his first point, an assist, tonight with the Moose.

- Austen Brassard (5 games) and Nic Petan (3 games) had their point streaks come to an end.

- The Moose have now earned at least one point in seven straight games at home.

- Manitoba has a 6-1-1-2 record in their last nine games at the MTS Centre.

- Eric Comrie made 35+ saves for the second straight game against the Wild. Comrie has not lost in regulation in his last eight games at home. His only home regulation loss was the first home game of the season Oct. 24 against Lake Erie.

- The Moose are now 0-3 in shootouts this season and are yet to score a goal in a shootout.

The Moose host the Grand Rapids Griffins next on Jan. 3. Puck drop is at 2 p.m. CT at the MTS Centre.
