Manitoba Moose Post-Game Report - Manitoba at Stockton - January 22

Goals:

- Freddie Hamilton makes a long stretch pass from his own end to send Emile Poirier in on a partial breakaway. Poirier wrists it past Eric Comrie 8:52 into the second period.

- Chase De Leo shoots the puck on net. In the ensuing scramble Brenden Kichton jumps on a rebound and puts it in an open net past Kevin Poulin with 4:44 remaining in the third period.

- Derek Grant had the game winning goal in the shootout beating Comrie just under his blocker on a wrist shot.

Highlights/Notes:

- Eric Comrie made a career high 49 saves in his 18th consecutive start in the Moose net. He now leads all AHL goaltenders in saves with 845.

- Darren Kramer returned to the lineup after serving a one-game suspension. He recorded two shots in the game.

- Chase De Leo (11-11-22) and Brenden Kichton (4-18-22) each had one point and remain tied for the team lead in points. Kichton is tied for 17th among AHL defencemen in points, while De Leo is tied for 14th among AHL rookies.

- Stockton's Derek Grant had his seven game point streak snapped, but he did score the shootout winner.

- The Moose gave up a season high 51 shots in the game.

- The Moose are now 0-4 in shootouts and have yet to score a goal in a shootout this season.

- This was the first ever meeting between the Moose and Heat.

The Moose will play the rematch against the Stockton Heat on Saturday, Jan. 23 at the Stockton Arena at 9:30 p.m. CT
