Stockton Heat News Release

Stockton, Calif. - The Stockton Heat opened their four-game homestand with a 2-1 shootout victory over the Manitoba Moose in what was a goaltender battle from start to finish. Kevin Poulin made save after save, including all three shootout attempts, on his way to his fourth win of the season, while Eric Comrie stopped 49 of the 50 shots he faced and provided a tough test for Stockton all night. However, Emile Poirier broke through in the second period with a breakaway goal and Derek Grant polished off the Heat victory with the lone shootout goal for either side. The Stockton Heat and Manitoba Moose will have little time to recover, as the two teams now look forward to Saturday night's tussle in Stockton for the second half of the double-header - a game that will be Stockton's Teddy Bear Toss game.
