Manitoba Moose News Release
Goals:
- The Admirals jump out to an early lead after a Moose offence zone turnover resulted in an odd man rush for Milwaukee, Kristian Nakyva passes it cross ice to Max Gortz who wrists it past Eric Comrie 1:01 into the game.
- Chase De Leo comes down the right side and takes a wrist shot to the far side past Juuse Saros at the 4:00 mark.
- Scott Kosmachuk works hard behind the net to get the puck, he passes out front to Ryan Olsen who wrists it into the back of the net for the second Moose goal in just 80 seconds.
- Milwaukee works it around the top of the zone on the powerplay. Kevin Fiala passes it to the left side where Max Gortz blasts a one-timer from the top of the circle past Comrie for his second of the game 3:51 into the second period.
- With the Moose on the powerplay a turnover causes a two-on-one for the Admirals. Felix Girard keeps the puck and fires it past Comrie 7:15 into the second.
- Nic Petan makes a cross-ice pass to Ryan Olsen out front, his shot creates a big rebound onto the stick of Austen Brassard who puts it past Saros just 23 seconds after the Milwaukee goal in the second.
- A scramble down by the goal line see's Matt White pass it out front to Jimmy Oligny who scores back hand on Comrie at 10:55 of the second period.
- Josh Morrissey drives the net and sends it out front to Adam Lowry who puts it on net. The rebound is collected by Chase De Leo who circles around and fires it past Saros. It's De Leo's second goal of the game at 7:57 of the third period.
- Max Gortz wins the race to the puck behind the Moose net he sends it back to the point to Kristian Nakyva who slaps it through a screen in front and past Comrie at 10:32 of the third.
- From behind the Milwaukee net, Nic Petan passes it out front to Chase De Leo who fires it top shelf from the slot for his first career hat trick with 4:11 to play.
- Adam Payerl streaks in the far side and sends a hard cross-ice pass to an open Pontus Aberg who taps it in for the game winning goal with just 33 seconds in the third period.
- With the Moose net empty, right off the draw Zac Larraza fires the puck into the net at 19:30 of the third.
Highlights/Notes:
- Chase De Leo recorded his first career hat trick with three goals in the game. He leads all Moose rookies in scoring with seven goals and nine assists for 16 points in 26 games. He is tied for 11th in the AHL among all rookie scorers.
- The line of Ryan Olsen, Scott Kosmachuk and Austen Brassard scored for the second straight game just seconds after another Moose goal. Tonight against Milwaukee Olsen scored with assists to Kosmachuk and Brassard just 80 seconds after the De Leo goal to take the lead. In the last Moose game against San Antonio, Olsen scored with assists to Kosmachuk and Brassard just 42 seconds after the previous Moose goal by John Albert.
- Ryan Olsen now has three goals in his last four games. He has four total goals this season which matches his career high. He is on pace to score 12 goals this season.
- Brenden Kichton recorded a point for the third straight game since returning to the lineup after missing four games due to injury. Kichton has four points (1G, 3A) in three games against the Admirals this season, all of them in Milwaukee.
- Chase De Leo (3G, 0A), Nic Petan (0G, 3A), Ryan Olsen (1G, 1A) and Austen Brassard (1G, 1A) each had multi-point games. It was Petan's second multi-point game in his last three contests and De Leo's second of the season. It was Olsen and Brassard's first multi-point game of the season.
- In his 13 games this season, Nic Petan leads all Moose players who have played a minimum 10 games in points-per-game-average with 0.77
- Adam Lowry recorded an assist for the third straight game since being assigned by the Winnipeg Jets on Dec. 16. He has at least one point in each game played with the Moose.
- The Moose scored on the powerplay for the third straight game going 1-for-2 with the man advantage.
- Jay Harrison did not play in the game after suffering an upper body injury and will be out week-to-week. He joins JC Lipon (upper body/week-to-week) and Thomas Raffl (broken jaw/week-to-week) on the Moose injury list.
Next Moose game is this Monday, Dec. 21 when Manitoba travels to face the Chicago Wolves at 7 p.m.
