Quad City Mallards News Release

Moline, Ill.- The Quad City Mallards this evening partnered with Genesis Health System to raise $19,150 for Genesis Concussion Management through the 16th Annual Mallards Jersey Auction following the Mallards' game against the Dayton Gems at the i wireless Center.

Game worn Mallards jerseys went up for bid in the live auction immediately after tonight's contest. The highest bidding was for the jersey of Mallards goaltender Adam Russo, which was auctioned off for $1,900.

Over the last 16 years Mallards jersey auctions have raised better than $650,000 to benefit local charities.

Genesis Concussion Management is scheduled to open in June at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport and at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus in Silvis. The concussion management program will monitor athletes with concussions and help manage their recovery. It is estimated that emergency departments of hospitals in the U.S. treat 135,000 patients with sports and recreation-related traumatic brain injuries, including concussions each year.

The Mallards play their regular season home finale next Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Bloomington PrairieThunder. Next Wednesday evening is also Fan Appreciation Night- an evening that will feature Mallards autographed memorabilia giveaways and other surprises.

Tickets for next Wednesday night's game are available in person at the i wireless Center box office, at Ticketmaster outlets, through www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000.
