
Mallards Back in Action Following All-Star Break

MADISON, WI - July 20, 2011. The Madison Mallards will take the field after a three-day hiatus as they take on the Waterloo Bucks in a 6:35 p.m. start at Riverfront Stadium Wednesday. The game will be the first for both teams since Monday's All-Star game.
The Mallards (3-7) will look to get their final 25 games off to a good start against the Bucks, who are in first place in the South Division with a 7-3 record.
The team is led by Nate Theunissen (Central Michigan) and Jordan Owen (Tennessee - Martin), both All-Stars for the Ducks. The team is hitting .269 with 76 doubles and 31 home runs.
Jonathan Crawford (Florida) is going to take the mound for Madison Wednesday. He is 1-1 on the season in six appearances with a 4.50 ERA. In 20 innings pitched, he has 27 strikeouts. Three of his six appearances have come against the Bucks. He lost in his last start on July 13 when Waterloo knocked off the Mallards 6-1 in Madison. In 7.2 innings against the Bucks this season, Crawford has allowed six runs and has 10 strikeouts. In all, the Mallards are 4-2 in games in which he has pitched.
Waterloo will be led by their All-Star position players Cameron Perkins (Purdue) and Davis Hendrickson (Illinois). The duo has paced a Bucks offense that ranks in the top ten in the Northwoods League with a .257 team average with 70 extra base hits, 27 home runs, and 45 stolen bases.
Wednesday's game will be the first of two for the Mallards in Waterloo. Thursday's series finale will also begin at 6:35 p.m.
Madison will return home for a weekend series with the Eau Claire Express that will begin Friday at 7:05 p.m.
