Maine Celtics News Release

PORTLAND, ME - After a disastrous first-half showing against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Friday, the Maine Red Claws (3-4) made the necessary adjustments to rebound against the Springfield Armor (3-4) tonight, picking up a solid 119-111 win. With the win, the Red Claws evened the season series with their East Conference rivals at two wins apiece.

Red Claws' rookie Tiny Gallon put forth his best effort of the season, leading the Red Claws with 25 points and eight rebounds. Maine continued to spread the scoring around with six of eight players in double figures, including guard Jamar Smith's double-double (20 pts, 10 assists) and Kenny Hayes with a stellar first half and his best showing of the year (13 points).

The Armor were led by their two NBA-assignees, with Terrence Williams nearly unstoppable all night. The 6-6, 200 lb. guard out of Louisville, continued his dominant play, slamming home 36 points and adding 9 rebounds in the losing effort. Craig Bracken added 30 points of his own while leading the team with 10 rebounds. Vernon Goodridge and Jerry Smith also had double-digit nights.

The Red Claws will return to action December 10 and 11 with a pair of games at Erie vs. the BayHawks in the first meeting with their East Conference opponent this season. The Armor will host the Austin Toros next weekend at the MassMutual Center in Springfield.
