Bakersfield Jam News Release


BAKERSFIELD - Trey Johnson led the Bakersfield Jam with 24 points tonight enroute to 110-103 second straight victory over the Idaho Stampede. Bakersfield was up by as many as 17 points in the game.

Both teams were very aggressive tonight, drawing 37 personal fouls each. Bakersfield got 39 points from the charity stripe on 50 attempts. Idaho hit 43 out of 54 free-throws. The Jam finished the game on a 7-3 run in the last 90 seconds to seal the victory.

Jam blocked 8 Stampede shot attempts and ran the ball for 15 fast break points tonight. Kenny Taylor was on fire again, hitting 5 out of 9 3-pointers and finishing with 19 points, 17 of which came in the first half. Marqus Blakely added 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.

Idaho's Carlos Wheeler and Eric Boateng both finished with a double-double, 18 points 14 boards and 19 points 11 rebounds respectively. Luke Jackson contributed 17 points and 7 rebounds off the bench.

The Jam will have an opportunity to sweep their 3 game home-stand against the Stampede on Monday night. The game will tip off at 7 o'clock.
