Magic Fall in Home Opener against the Westchester Knicks

The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, lost to the Westchester Knicks with a final score 125-104.

The Knicks started out strong outscoring the Magic 46-34 in the first quarter. The Magic were competitive in the second and third quarter but their defense couldn't hold on to a hot Knicks who shot 69.2% from the three.

Two-Way Player, Amile Jefferson led the way for the Magic with 30 points and 7 rebounds. Two-Way Player, Troy Caupain also had an impressive game with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Assignment players, Melvin Frazier Jr. and Isaiah Briscoe contributed 12 points and 10 points respectively.

For the Knicks, Returning Player, John Jenkins was on fire racking in an impressive 44 points. Two-Way Player, Isaiah Hicks had a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds on the night. Luke Kornet, on assignment from New York, also had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Returning Player, Billy Garrett was a key contributor off the bench with 15 points.

The Magic are back home again on Friday, November 16 and are 0-3 to start the season. The game will be at the RP Funding Center at 7PM, as the Magic face off against the Greensboro Swarm for Honoring our Heroes Night.
