CANTON, OH - The Canton Charge (2-1), powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, defeated the Erie BayHawks (2-2), 116-112, at the Memorial Civic Center on Saturday night. The win gave Canton their first Home Opener victory since the 2013 season.

Six Charge players scored in double figures led by Scoochie Smith's 22 points with eight assists and four steals in 34 minutes. JaCorey Williams came off the bench for Canton to score 21 points on 6-of-9 shooting and 9-of-13 from the foul line with two blocks in 23 minutes. Emanuel Terry had an all-around effort of nine points, 10 rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 25 minutes. Billy Preston scored 11 points and grabbed seven boards in 21 minutes. Kobi Simmons scored 16 points in 36 minutes, while Bonzie Colson II added 15 points and two steals in 27 minutes.

The BayHawks were led by Terrence Jones scoring a game-high 25 points with 10 rebounds, three steals, two blocks and nine turnovers in 33 minutes. R.J. Hunter netted 22 points, grabbed seven rebounds and nabbed four steals in 37 minutes. Jaylen Adams completed the 20+ scoring trio for Erie by pouring in 21 points on 7-of-13 from the field.
