Madden, Taylor, Alvarez Sent to DL

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Suns, Double-A minor league affiliate of the Miami Marlins, announced today that RHP Corey Madden has been sent to the disabled list (right shoulder impingement), LHP Graham Taylor has been sent to the disabled list (right hamstring strain) and LHP Jose Alvarez has been sent to the disabled list (left groin strain). In a corresponding move, LHP Rob Rasmussen has been transferred from Jupiter to Jacksonville and RHP Mike Ojala has been transferred from Jupiter to Jacksonville.

Madden, heads to the 7-day DL with a right shoulder impingement after appearing in 15 games for the Suns in 2012. Madden has a 2.61 ERA with a 2-1 record, 6 walks and 17 strikeouts in 20.2 innings of work.

Taylor, heads to the 7-day DL with a right hamstring strain after starting 16 games for the Suns in 2012. Taylor has a 4.89 ERA with a 4-7 record, 19 walks and 55 strikeouts in 88.1 innings of work.

Alvarez, heads to the 7-day DL with a left groin strain after starting 15 games for the Suns in 2012. Alvarez has a 3.81 ERA with a 2-4 record, 18 walks and 50 strikeouts in 82.2 innings of work.

Rasmussen, is making his first appearance in Jacksonville. In 2012 for Jupiter he has a 3.90 ERA with a 4-7 record, 36 walks and 75 strikeouts. Rasmussen is available for Tuesday's contest in Jacksonville. In 2011, Rasmussen compiled a 12-10 record with a 3.68 ERA in 27 starts for Jupiter. Rasmussen was drafted in the 2nd Round of the 2010 MLB Draft out of UCLA. Rasmussen will be assigned a number upon arrival.

Ojala, is making his first appearance in Jacksonville. In 2012 for Jupiter he has a 4.95 ERA with a 2-4 record, 17 walks and 37 strikeouts. Ojala is available for Tuesday's contest in Jacksonville. In 2011, Ojala compiled a 4-3 record with a 4.42 ERA in 38 appearances for Greensboro. Ojala was drafted in the 25th Round of the 2010 MLB Draft out of Rice University. Ojala will be assigned a number upon arrival.

The Suns roster is at 24 for now, with the maximum of 25 allowed by the Southern League.
