
Mad Ants Fall Short in Comeback Effort at Memphis

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - The Fort Wayne Mad Ants fell to the Memphis Hustle, 120-118, at the Landers Center on Wednesday night in front of a crowd of 934. Memphis Grizzlies two-way player Yuta Watanabe propelled Memphis (4-3) with 32 points on 11-of-19 shooting and five rebounds. Watanabe came up one point short of tying the record for the most points in a game in team history.
Doral Moore recorded the first double-double performance of the season for Memphis, finishing with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Jevon Carter would follow suit with 18 points and 10 assists.
Despite an effort to erase a deficit as large as 16 in the second half, Edmond Sumner led the Mad Ants (3-3) with 28 points to go along with four assists and three steals.
Tra-Deon Hollins poured in career-high 19 points in his first starting appearance of the season.
Indiana Pacers assignment players Ike Anigbogu and Alize Johnson finished with double-doubles as well. Anigbogu tallied 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Johnson finished with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Je'lon Hornbeak came off the bench to record his first points of the season, finishing with nine on 3-of-4 shooting from beyond the arc. Stephan Hicks finished with his fourth double-digit scoring night of the season as well.
The Mad Ants and Hustle will both return to action on Sunday. Fort Wayne will head to Windy City, while Memphis will host Oklahoma City.
Fort Wayne will return home on Thursday, Nov. 29 against Raptors 905. It is $2 beverages for all fans in attendance. Tickets are still available here.
