Macon Mayhem News Release
For the first time in five games this season between the Macon Mayhem and Knoxville Ice Bears, the home ice disadvantage curse ended. Unfortunately for the Mayhem, it was Knoxville that prevailed on its home ice 4-1 Saturday night.
The win moves Knoxville into seventh place and Ieaves the Mayhem tied with Louisiana for 8th place. It was the second straight night the Ice Bears defeated the Mayhem by the same score. Unlike Friday when the Mayhem struck first, Knoxville scored the first three goals.
Jason Price and Todd Hosmer scored in the first period. Andrew Bonazza's goal at 5:33 of the second period stretched the lead to 3-0 for the Ice Bears. Shawn Skelly got the Mayhem on the scoreboard at 11:31 of the second period. Brad Pawlowski scored into an empty net with 27 left to wrap up the scoring.
The Mayhem returns home Sunday afternoon to play the Peoria Rivermen at 4:30 at the Macon Coliseum. Fans who present their ticket stub from Friday's game can purchase a ticket for Sunday's game for only $8. Following the game, Mayhem players will take part in a special public skating session with fans.
