HEATING THE STU

Last night's Peoria win included a goal and an assist for Peoria winger Adam Stuart, giving him his second straight multi-point game and improving his point total to a team-high 18. The Calgary, Alberta native was acquired in an offseason trade with Louisiana, and now has seven points in his last five contests, including two goals and three assists in his last two games.

SIDING WITH GREENSIDE

Peoria comes into tonight's contest with defenseman Brandon Greenside riding a six-game point streak after he had two assists in last night's 3-2 win at Fayetteville. Greenside has one goal and eight assists in his last six contests, including three assists December 19 at Columbus. The former FireAntz blueliner has two goals and 14 assists this year in 23 games with Peoria, making he and Alec Hagaman the only two players on Peoria's roster to skate in all 23 Rivermen games this season.

THE MASKED MAN

Last night's win was the third in as many Peoria chances for Rivermen goalie David Jacobson, who had previously been 0-4-0 this season with Macon before being released. The rookie previously played four seasons for Division-III St. Norbert College, where he backstopped the Green Knights to a National Championship in 2013-14.

The Rivermen enter tonight's contest leading the league in fewest shots on goal allowed per game at 27.39, while also placing second in the SPHL offensively with 33.26 shots on goal per game. Peoria has out-shot opponents 281-190 in the first period this year. The Rivermen are out-shooting their opponents 765-630 overall this season.
