(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today that goaltender Drew MacIntyre has been recalled to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.
MacIntyre is 7-0 this year in playoff games he has started between the Storm and the Griffins. Drew just helped Toledo advance to the conference finals, spearheading wins of 3-1 and 3-2 in games 3 and 4. MacIntyre is 5-0 with Toledo in the post-season, boasting a miniscule 1.80 GAA and a .926 SVP. Prior to those games, Drew won back-to-back games for the Griffins, helping them to a series win over Toronto. MacIntyre is 2-0 with a 1.28 GAA and a .961 in the playoffs with Grand Rapids.
With Toledo in the regular season, MacIntyre had a 24-7-3 record to go with a 2.06 goals against average and a .926 save percentage. Drew set new Storm goaltending records with his GAA and SVP. MacIntyre, a 2001 selection of the Detroit Red Wings, had two shutouts this season with the Storm. Drew was named RBK Hockey ECHL goaltender of the week for 3/13 - 3/19, and RBC Financial Group ECHL Goaltender of March. He was also a runner-up for the goaltender of the month in April.
