
Falcons' Clair Named In Glas Co ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Fraser Clair of the Fresno
Falcons is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for Apr. 24-30.
The 6-foot-1 and 210-pound right wing scored a hat trick, including the
game-winning goal, in Fresno's 5-3 win against Bakersfield in Game 1 of the
Pacific Division Finals on Apr. 24. He had an assist in the Falcons' 4-2
win in Game 2 on Apr. 25 and scored an unassisted goal in a 4-2 loss in
Game 3 at Bakersfield on Apr. 28. In Game 4 on Apr. 29, Clair scored a
power-play goal to tie the game at 18:44 of the third period and scored the
game winner in overtime to give Fresno a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven
series.
Clair leads Fresno and is tied for second overall in the Kelly Cup
Playoffs with two game-winning goals. He leads the Falcons and is tied for
fifth in the league with six goals and his team-high 10 points in nine
games tie him for 11th overall in the playoffs. In his last five games,
Clair has two game-winning goals, three power-play goals and seven points
(6g-1a).
The 25-year-old began his professional career in 2002-03 and had 27 points
(13g-14a) and 92 penalty minutes in 52 games with Lexington of the ECHL. He
also played in the American Hockey League as a rookie, registering one
assist and 12 penalty minutes in 15 regular season games and 12 penalty
minutes in two playoff games with Utah.
He has also played in the ECHL for Cincinnati, Dayton and Atlantic City
and has 131 points (59g-72a) and 458 penalty minutes in 224 regular season
games and 11 points (7g-4a) and 30 penalty minutes in 12 Kelly Cup Playoff
games.
The native of Toronto, Ontario played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey
League from 1998-99 to 2001-02 with Barrie and Mississauga. He had 112
points and 180 penalty minutes in 247 career regular season games and 12
points (5g-7a) and 54 penalty minutes in 25 career playoff games. In
2001-02 with Barrie, he had career bests with 22 goals, 26 assists and 48
points in 67 regular season games and also had career bests in the playoffs
with four goals, five assists and nine points in 20 games.
On behalf of Fraser Clair a case of pucks will be donated to a Fresno,
Calif. area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive
puck supplier for the ECHL. In Glas Co has donated over 14,000 pucks
to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities since it began sponsoring the
award in 2000-01.
