
Machanics add three more to roster

FRASER, MI- The Motor City Mechanics, proud members of the United Hockey League (UHL) are pleased to announce the signing of Center, Kris Vernarsky, Forward, Josh Fey and Defenseman, Henry Acres.
Vernarsky, 23, played 17 games in the NHL with the Boston Bruins. In 2002-03 he played 14 games netting one goal and in 2003-04 he played in three games with no points.
Prior to his NHL and AHL experience Vernarsky also played parts of four seasons with the Plymouth Whalers. During those 228 games Vernarsky netted 52 goals, 93 assists for 145 points.
Fey, 23, is a Toledo, Ohio native and has 33 professional games of experience. Fey spent last season with four different teams netting 10 points and five goals.
Acres, 30, is still a rookie by UHL rules having only played in 60 games. Last season however Acres netted career highs in goals (7), assists (15), points (22), and penalty minutes (194).
That brings the total number of players under contract for the 2005-06 season to 15. Four Defensemen, Kevin Hansen, Chris Bogas, Mike Burgoyne and now Henry Acres. Nine forwards, Chris Gignac, Konstantin Kalmikov, Peter Szabo, Mike Ramsay, Julian Smith, Greg Bullock, Adam Edinger and now Josh Fey and Kris Vernarsky. Two goaltenders, Rod Branch and Bill Ruggiero whom are all heading to "The Garage."
The Mechanics open the 2005-06 season October 21st when they visit the Missouri River Otters and come join the Mechanics for opening weekend when they face off against the Kalamazoo Wings on Friday October 28th, and the Port Huron Flags on Saturday October 29th.
Every fan that enters the Garage on October 28th will receive a complimentary opening night collectible game puck sponsored by McDonald's. Opening night is also a youth hockey celebration as all youth teams are encouraged to come join the fun and participate in the first intermission team parade, and meet McDonald's own, Ronald McDonald! On October 29th SVS Vision is presenting magnetic schedules as well as all kids are encouraged to wear costumes to the game and trick-or-treat with the Mechanics after the game.
