IceHogs release 2005-2006 training camp roster and schedule

Rockford, Ill.- Rockford IceHogs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Steve Martinson announced the United Hockey League team's 2005 Training Camp Roster on Wednesday. The IceHogs are set to open their seventh training camp in Rockford on Monday, October 10. The IceHogs are coming off their best season in club history in 04-05.

Rockford's training camp roster stands at 22 and features 13 forwards, seven defenseman and two goaltenders. The IceHogs will also have eight rookies and three veterans in training camp when it opens on Monday.

The forwards on the preseason roster include Robin Big Snake, Sean Hannafin, Chaz Johnson, Alex Kim, Vince Malts, Preston Mizzi, Jason Notermann, Olivier Proulx, Jason Ralph, Yannick Tifu, Bruce Watson, Chad Woollard and Steve Yetman.

The IceHogs defensive members are Ryan Carrigan, Matt Gens, Corey Hessler, Evgueni Nourislamov, Nathan Lutz, Steve Pelletier and Joe Pace. Both Pace and Hannafin are in camp on tryout agreements. In between the pipes are a pair of familiar faces in Michel Robinson and Ronnie Vogel.

The Rockford IceHogs, proud members of the United Hockey League, announced Wednesday their 2005 Training Camp Schedule. The IceHogs seventh season in the Forest City will begin on Monday, October 10 and runs through Thursday, October 20.

The IceHogs first practice is slated for October 10 at 10:00 a.m. The practice will take place at Riverview Icehouse in downtown Rockford and will be followed by a media session, beginning at 12:00 p.m. The practice is open to the public. Another media session will take place on Tuesday, October 18 at 1:00 p.m. at MedicineMan, Inc., located downtown Rockford.

The IceHogs Training Camp schedule includes a pair of exhibition games, including a home contest against the Quad City Mallards on Saturday, October 15 at the Rockford MetroCentre. To celebrate the Hogs seventh season, tickets are $7, General Admission and all kids 7-and under receive free admission. The IceHogs will then travel to St. Charles, Missouri for their final preseason tune-up on Sunday, October 16 against the River Otters at 6:30 p.m.

All of the IceHogs practices spanning from October 10 through October 14 are open to the public, as the team skates at Riverview Icehouse. Any special media requests for training camp need to be directed to IceHogs Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Mike Peck at (815) 986-6465.
