AUGUSTA, GA - The Augusta Lynx improved their overall record to 3-2-0 with a win Saturday night over the Greensboro Generals by a score of 3-2.

After a scoreless first period, Sergei Kuznetsov would score the first goal of the game off assists from Ryan Lauzon and Phillipe Lakos at the 12:08 mark of the second period, it was Kuznetsov's second goal of the season. Sam Ftorek would tally his 3rd powerplay goal of the season at the 17:33 mark of the second to tie the score at one. With just :27 seconds left in the second period, Brent Gauvreau would score on a weak angle shot for his first goal of the season, it came on the power play at the 19:33 mark of the second period and put the Lynx ahead 2-1. Gauvreau would add his second red lighter of the evening just :10 seconds into the third period with a wrist shot from the slot making the score 3-1. Mark Turner would tally midway through the third to finish the scoring at 3-2.

Lynx starting goaltender Geoffrey Faulkner would win for the third straight outing stopping 39 of 41 shots. Jamie Hodson picked up the loss for the Generals who fell to 2-2-1 on the season.
