Johnstown Chiefs News Release
Tonight the Johnstown Chiefs (2-1-0) and the Cincinnati Cyclones (1-2-0) meet for the first time this season. The Chiefs suffered their first loss of the season last night at the hands of the Toledo Storm, 4-2 at the Toledo Sports Arena. The Storm lead 3-0 going into the 3rd period before Chiefs forwards Jason Spence and Steve Hildenbrand scored 0:19 apart to close the gap to 3-2. The Storm's Tim Verbeek would score an unassisted goal with under five minutes to play to secure the win for the first place Storm. Chiefs goaltender Peter Aubry made 37 saves in the defeat. The Cyclones won their first game of the season last night when they defeated the Dayton Bombers 4-3 last night in Dayton. Mike Henderson scored two goals, while Terry Ryan and Ryan Gaucher also tallied for the Cyclones. Greg Hewitt made 25 saves in the contest for Cincinnati.
Johnstown/Cincinnati Season Series:
This is the first of eight meetings between the two teams this season. The Chiefs were 5-3-1 against the Cyclones last season outscoring them 31-29. The Chiefs were 2-1-1 at home against the Cyclones last season. All-time Johnstown is 11-16-2 all-time against the former Louisville now Cincinnati franchise.

Head Coach Malcolm Cameron played 20 games for the Chiefs during the 1995-96 season..................The Cyclones are an affiliate of the San Jose Sharks........................LW Terry Ryan played in 8 games for the Montreal Canadiens from 1996-99.......................The Cyclones placed Sebastien Thinel on the injured reserve list Thursday.......................Cincinnati missed the playoffs last season.....................Cincinnati is averaging 38.0 shots/game, while averaging 26.0 shots against/ game.

The Chiefs will take to the road next weekend for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday night against the Peoria Rivermen.
