Lynx To Attend Local Youth Hockey Practices

AUGUSTA, GA— The Augusta Lynx will be attending Augusta Youth Ice Hockey practices this week and working with area youths on the fundamentals of hockey. Rookie Ryan Crane will lead a team of players consisting of Chris Gustafson, Andrew Ianiero, Jeff Szwez, and Ryan Murray as they attend Mite, Pee Wee, and Bantam practices this week at the Augusta Ice Sports Center.

Lynx defenseman Ryan Crane, who teaches hockey at Draft Choice Hockey Schools throughout the Toronto area during the summer realizes the importance of working with young hockey player's, "It's a way of passing the hockey torch down from one generation to another. These youngsters learn from just watching how a pro skates, shoots, and passes. It's worth just watching the kids eyes get wide as saucers when we demonstrate a wrist shot. Augusta's Youth hockey program is lucky to have pro players at their disposal to help teach the kids and we love doing it.

The Lynx will attend the Mite practice from 7:00-7:50 PM on Wednesday, March 12th, and the Pee Wee/Bantam practice session set for Thursday, March 13th from 8:00-8:50 PM. Both practice sessions will be held at the Augusta Ice Sports Center located off of Augusta West Parkway. All media is encouraged to attend.

The Augusta Lynx entertain the South Carolina Stingrays at the Civic Center this coming Friday night and the Columbia Inferno on Saturday night. Both games are set for 7:35 PM. Tickets for both games are still available. Contact the Lynx Ticket Department at 706-724-4423 for more information. The Lynx travel to Charleston on Sunday to take on the South Carolina Stingrays before returning home for a five game home stand, beginning on Wednesday, March 19th when the Lynx entertain the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies. Game time is 7:05 pm.
