Lynx Streak Snapped At Four Games
April 20, 2007 - International League (IL1)
Ottawa Lynx News Release
The Lynx had their four-game win streak snapped, as Charlotte salvaged one win in their four-game set. The Knights took the Lynx by a score of 3-1.
The loss drops the Lynx record to 5-6 and boosts the Knights to 6-8.
Player Of The Game: Brennan King went 2 for 4, driving in the Lynx only run.
Game Recap: Another pitcher's duel went down at the Stadium on a beautiful Friday night for baseball. The Knights opened the scoring with a run in the top of the 2nd inning on a Ryan Sweeney home run off Lynx starter Zach Segovia. That lead wouldn't last long, though, as the Lynx came back with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning. Gary Burnham led the inning off with a single, moved to second on a Lou Collier single, and scored on another single, this time by Brennan King. But that was all the Lynx could muster, whereas the Knights put two more on the board--single runs in both the 4th and 7th. Segovia threw a season-high 7.0 innings, allowing all three runs and striking out two Knights. Kane Davis threw a scoreless 8th inning in his first appearance off the disabled list and Joe Bisenius struck out two in his perfect 9th. A late rally was snuffed out when Chris Roberson grounded out with two men on base in the bottom of the 9th.
Next Game: The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees hit the Nation's Capital for a two-game series Saturday night at Lynx Stadium. Game time is 6:05pm.
Probable Pitchers: Saturday vs. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, 6:05 pm, Ottawa LHP Jim Crowell (0-0, 33.75) vs. Scranton RHP Steven Jackson (1-0, 3.60)
