Augusta Lynx News Release

The Augusta Lynx have fortified their roster for the remainder of the season by adding goaltender Chad Collins and forward George Nistas to the club from the Fayetteville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League.

Collins, 24, was voted SPHL Goaltender of the Year and Rookie of the Year for this season, posting a 25-13-0 record along with a 2.48 GAA and .922 save percentage. The latter two numbers led the SPHL, as did his four shutouts on the year. The 5-8, 160 lb. Guelph, Ontario native will wear #32 with the Lynx.

Hailing from North York, Ontario, Nistas recorded 28 goals and 58 points splitting this year between Jacksonville and Fayetteville. The 5-9, 167 lb. center also played four seasons of junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League, scoring 17 goals and 42 points his final season with Plymouth in 2001-02. Nistas will don #5 for Augusta.

Both players will be available to the team this evening when they take on the Inferno in Columbia at 7:35 pm tonight, with pre-game show kicking off one half-hour before game time on NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630. Augusta's next home game will be this Sunday, April 3rd at 4:05 pm when they take on the Mississippi Sea Wolves. Tickets are on sale now for all remaining Lynx home games through the team office at (706) 724-4ICE, through all TicketMaster locations, or on line at www.TicketMaster.com.
