May 13th, 2009 -- 7:00 PM

Gene Hooks Field @ Wake Forest Baseball Park

LHP Justin Wilson (2-2, 5.56) vs. RHP Daniel Hudson (0-0, 0.00)

THE HILLCATS: Lynchburg took the opener of a three-game series at Winston-Salem with a 6-2 win on Tuesday afternoon and have now won six out of seven games...With the win and and Potomac's loss, the Hillcats once again have sole possession of first place in the Northern Division and the best record in the league...Tonight is the second game of a three-game series at Winston-Salem and game five of six in a row on the road...

VS. WINSTON-SALEM: Lynchburg took three out of four from the Dash when they met at City Stadium in mid-May...Last season Winston-Salem (then the Warthogs) won the season series 14-6 and were 8-2 at Ernie Shore Field...Lynchburg has the all-time advantage 147-136, but they are 64-74 in the Triad...

AUSPICIOUS START: The game one victory yesterday moved the Hillcats to 9-1 in series openers this season...Not surprisingly, Lynchburg has gone 6-2-1 in series thus far this season...

QUALITY NOT QUANTITY: Yesterday was the Hillcats shortest nine inning game of the season...The 6-2 win took only two hours and four minutes to play...The game featured a season-low three strike outs between the two teams...Lynchburg did play a game against Frederick at City Stadium that took an hour and 38 minutes, but that was a seven inning contest...The announced attendance at Wake Forest Baseball Park was just 201 people, easily the smallest crowd the Cats have played in front of this year...

STRETCHING IT OUT: RHP Matt McSwain worked a season-long six and 2/3 innings and allowed two runs in earning the win yesterday afternoon...It was the third straight start that the right-hander had his longest stint of the year...He went five innings against Kinston at home two starts ago in his first win of the season and he tossed five and 2/3 versus Myrtle Beach in his last start...

DURHAM DIALED IN: UTIL Miles Durham is riding an eight-game hitting streak in which he is batting .469 (15-for-32) with five doubles, two home runs, nine RBI and eight runs scored...In the three-game series at Salem, Durham went a combined 7-for-13 with three doubles, a homer, five RBI and two runs...

SECOND TO NONE: INF Ray Chang was inserted into the line-up at second base yesterday after INF Jose De Los Santos was a late scratch for the second straight game...Chang drove-in the first run of the game in the four-run fifth inning with an RBI single that extended his current hitting streak to eight games...Over that stretch, he has hit .375 (12-for-32) with seven RBI and eight runs scored...

WEIRD, WILD, WACKY STUFF: RHP Michael Dubee pitched against his former team yesterday and worked two scoreless innings to finish off the win...Dubee pitched for the Dash earlier this season and was beaten by his current team, the Hillcats...This season marks the second time in Dubee's career that he has been traded mid-season, and then turned around and pitched against his former team that same year...The first time he was moved, it was from the Phillies to the White Sox, and he pitched for both Lakewood (Phillies Low-A Affiliate) and Kannapolis (White Sox Low-A Affiliate) in the South Atlantic League...

TONIGHT'S OPPOSING PITCHER: RHP Daniel Hudson was selected in the fifth round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft by the White Sox out of Old Dominion University...He was a three-year starter for the Monarchs and went a combined 20-14 with a 3.79 ERA in 32 games (30 starts)...As a junior he went 5-6 with a 4.70 ERA in 13 starts his final season at ODU...Hudson made his professional debut with Great Falls at the Rookie level and went 5-4 with a 3.36 ERA in 14 starts...He began this season with Low-A Kannopolis and posted a 1-2 mark with a 1.23 ERA in four starts before being promoted to Winston-Salem...In his only start at the Advanced-A level he worked two scoreless innings and took a no-decision...In 93 and 2/3 innings as a pro, Hudson has struck out 123 batters...He is ranked as the 24th best prospect in the White Sox minor league organization according to Baseball America...
